Banyan Software, a leading acquirer and operator of mission-critical enterprise software businesses, today announced the acquisition of Bitcentral’s Production and Playout business, which serves leading broadcasters across the U.S. and Mexico. The business will continue to operate as Bitcentral.
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Bitcentral is a provider of newsroom production and playout software that powers the camera-to-air workflow for leading broadcast television groups, cable news networks, and media organizations. The acquired business serves approximately 40 broadcast groups across roughly 1,600 newsrooms and TV stations, delivering software solutions that support ingest, editing, media asset management, archiving, and automated playout. The transaction establishes Bitcentral as a standalone company focused on supporting and growing its broadcast customer base.
